Project 365

Welcome! This is my own 365 project of creating at least one post per day about the stuff that I learnt, achieved, and found, the stuff that made me happy, or the new thing I did every single day.

The project was started on 21 February 2010. It has stopped for few times but I am determined to continue!

This project is dedicated to myself. I want to feel grateful for every single thing I have. I want to be thankful for my own life. I just want to feel that I have enough.

The Wonder of Kinderdijk

Windmills in Kinderdijk, the Netherlands

Had an awesome day today with my girls, Ari and Jessie in Kinderdijk, a village that was famous for the windmills. There were 19 windmills in total, which made this village one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The day was PERFECT! The sun was shining so brightly and the sky was clear and blue. It was such a beautiful day. We walked along the path leading to these windmills, sat nearby a small river (or canal) and warm ourselves up under the sun, and had a great talk, as usual.

We went back to Jessie’s place in Utrecht at around 8 or 9pm, where Ari and I slept over there for a night. I was REALLY tired as I slept at 5am the night before. But I really enjoyed my day and I couldn’t be more happier and thankful 🙂

Route Changes

Neuschwanstein Castle

Some route changes have just been made to our Easter trip. We’ve decided to add Neuschwanstein Castle to our sightseeing list!!! It’s a beautiful castle and it’s the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.

We’ve also decided to stay for a night in Ulm instead of Munich as previously planned. Qonita, one of my friends who are joining the trip and who are going to be one of the drivers, has found a Couchsurfer who’s kind enough to offer us a place to sleep. It’s indeed a great news!

I haven’t found a Couchsurfer in Salzburg though. I’m still looking for it. If I don’t find anything, then we’re just going to sleep in a hostel. It’ll still be fun!

Here is the updated route 🙂

me: WE DO!!!!! LOL. Saving money for traveling hahaha
Jessie: Yeah, before we get married and get knocked up and become IBU RT [ibu rumah tangga / housewife]. We still need to see the world
me: =)) INDEEDD!!!!

This the chat with my travel friend, Jessie today. Oh gosh, I can never save money for the future!!! I’m always going to travel until I’m really settled! Hahaha.

It isn’t that bad to enjoy yourself before being somebody else’s wife, right? 😉

Whatever it is… I’m excited about next year! All the travel plans. Everything. Let’s see if I can really do it (since I’ll probably be jobless LOL).

Good News!

Alhamdulillah ya Allah. When there is a bad news, the good news follows! 🙂

Today I’ve been searching for a Couchsurfer who is able to host 5 people at once for a night in Paris (or nearby Paris), knowing that the hostels in Paris are quite expensive. I know, our trip will not be until next month, but I have to prepare everything from now.

Just before I was about to go to bed, I received a message from a really nice Couchsurfer who will open his door for 5 of us to sleep at!!! I can’t describe how happy I was! Searching for a couch/host in Paris is not easy. It took me 3 weeks to find a host when I went there last year, so I was really delighted to receive such a good news in such a short time! It seems like the host is very nice. He said that he could have a day off just to be with us and show us Paris around! OMG! That’s super wonderful! And the most important thing is: he has been to Indonesia! Yay! (perhaps that’s why he wants to host us!!!)

Oh I’m so grateful!

Hallstatt, Austria

Hallstatt, Austria

This is a beautiful village in Austria called Hallstatt. It’s located about 1 hour from King’s Lake. Isn’t it a pretty place??? I’m not sure if we can visit this village, but I’ll suggest it to my friends later for the trip! 🙂

King’s Lake, Germany

The beautiful King’s Lake (Königssee) in Bavaria, Germany. Such a beautiful place.

Yet Another Road Trip

Route

I’m super excited now! My friends and I have just planned another road trip around Europe, and this time to Paris, King’s Lake (Königssee) in Bavaria, Germany, and Salzburg, Austria. Three countries in 3 days with 2 super strong female drivers! Awesome!

We’re planning to start our trip on Thursday (1 April) evening to Paris. We’re gonna stay there til Friday afternoon before heading for Munich (or any other cities nearby in Bavaria) to spend a night at. On Saturday morning we’ll drive to the amazingly beautiful King’s Lake (and other places in Bavaria, but I haven’t explored which places to visit yet). Then our trip will be concluded in Salzburg, where Mozart was born and where the famous movie The Sound of Music was filmed (which has a beautiful setting!).

Oh, I can’t wait for this trip! Here’s the rough route.
