Project 365

Welcome! This is my own 365 project of creating at least one post per day about the stuff that I learnt, achieved, and found, the stuff that made me happy, or the new thing I did every single day.

The project was started on 21 February 2010. It has stopped for few times but I am determined to continue!

This project is dedicated to myself. I want to feel grateful for every single thing I have. I want to be thankful for my own life. I just want to feel that I have enough.

The Place

My heart will never seek another heart,
Or smell another flower, knowing you.
Your love has made heart’s field a desert waste;
No love other than yours grows in that place

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

Such a powerful and beautiful poem that describes about Rumi’s love of the Divine. I wonder if such love exists between human beings? 🙂

Oh Soul…

Oh soul,
you worry too much.
You have seen your own strength.
You have seen your own beauty.
You have seen your golden wings.

Of anything less,
why do you worry?
You are in truth
the soul, of the soul, of the soul.

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

Your Love

Your love lifts my soul from the body to the sky.
And you lift me up out of the two worlds.
I want your sun to reach my raindrops,
So your heat can raise
my soul upward like a cloud.

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

One of the most beautiful poems of Rumi.

Life and Death

This place is a dream, only a sleeper considers it real. Then death comes like dawn, and you wake up laughing at what you thought was your grief.

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

Be Occupied

Be occupied, then, with what you really value and let the thief take something else.

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

Surrender.

Don’t pretend to know something you haven’t experienced…
Very little grows on jagged rock.
Be ground.
Be crumbled, so wildflowers come up where you are.
You’ve been stony for too many years.
Try something different.
Surrender.

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

Journey into Self…

You lack a foot to travel?
Then journey into yourself
That leads to transformation
of dust into pure gold.
Be melting snow.
Wash yourself of yourself

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

The Source

Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world.
The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same.
Every wonderful sight will vanish; every sweet word will fade,
But do not be disheartened,
The source they come from is eternal, growing,
Branching out, giving new life and new joy.
Why do you weep?
The source is within you
And this whole world is springing up from it

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

I find peace and calmness in this poem. Somehow 🙂

Without Legs, We Fly

The hurt you embrace becomes joy
Call it to your arms where it can change

A silkworm eating leaves makes a cocoon
Each of us weaves a chamber of leaves and sticks

Silkworms begin to truly exist
as they disappear inside that room

Without legs, we fly

When I stop speaking, this poem will close,
and open its silent wings…

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

There’s always hope in everything…

He

Knock,
And He’ll open the door
Vanish,
And He’ll make you shine like the sun
Fall,
And He’ll raise you to the heavens
Become nothing,
And He’ll turn you into everything.

— Jalal ad-Din Rumi

I just love this one 🙂
