Project 365

Welcome! This is my own 365 project of creating at least one post per day about the stuff that I learnt, achieved, and found, the stuff that made me happy, or the new thing I did every single day.

The project was started on 21 February 2010. It has stopped for few times but I am determined to continue!

This project is dedicated to myself. I want to feel grateful for every single thing I have. I want to be thankful for my own life. I just want to feel that I have enough.

Yet Another Easter Road Trip

Possible places to visit for the road trip

Despite my busy schedule and a 2-hour sleep last night, I can still do this!!! weeeewww!

I’ve been so grumpy and cranky lately. I can’t believe I haven’t traveled for 6 months!!! I can’t wait any longer. I promised myself not to travel until I graduate, but it doesn’t seem to work! I’ll end up insane if I don’t travel.

My friends and I were planning to do a road trip in Spain, but the flight ticket is so expensive! We’ve been waiting for more than a month and it doesn’t get any lower. So last night, I said to myself: THAT’S IT! Let’s change the destination! Let’s just drive somewhere!

You know you’re so desperate to travel when you open the whole map of Europe and try to pick whatever places to visit. Pasrah? Yep. I just need to get out.

Then my friend suggested  this route shown above. I immediately AGREE with it! Lyon — Nice — Monaco — Torino — Geneva — Lausanne — Montreux — Luzern. The cities are still not confirmed yet, as we’re still discussing about it. But I’m so excited already! Finally, I’ve got something I’m so looking forward to in 2 months time!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH….

Ok, I need to sleep. Nitey nite!

Paris

Paris

Visiting Paris is a dream to many people. And I’m lucky enough to be able to go there twice. It’s a pretty city with many gardens scattered everywhere. What I like about Paris is that, although it’s such a huge and crowded city, it’s a great place to just hang out, do a picnic, walk along the Seine River, or just sit somewhere. It’s surprisingly not polluted (compared to Jakarta!). And I enjoyed it so much when I was there.

Anyway, this is a picture I found posted on somebody else’s tumblr. This is a picture of Palais du Louvre (Louvre Palace) where the Louvre Museum is located. It’s usually packed with tourists!!! Probably this picture was taken early in the morning. Stunning, as usual.

Good News!

Alhamdulillah ya Allah. When there is a bad news, the good news follows! 🙂

Today I’ve been searching for a Couchsurfer who is able to host 5 people at once for a night in Paris (or nearby Paris), knowing that the hostels in Paris are quite expensive. I know, our trip will not be until next month, but I have to prepare everything from now.

Just before I was about to go to bed, I received a message from a really nice Couchsurfer who will open his door for 5 of us to sleep at!!! I can’t describe how happy I was! Searching for a couch/host in Paris is not easy. It took me 3 weeks to find a host when I went there last year, so I was really delighted to receive such a good news in such a short time! It seems like the host is very nice. He said that he could have a day off just to be with us and show us Paris around! OMG! That’s super wonderful! And the most important thing is: he has been to Indonesia! Yay! (perhaps that’s why he wants to host us!!!)

Oh I’m so grateful!

Yet Another Road Trip

Route

I’m super excited now! My friends and I have just planned another road trip around Europe, and this time to Paris, King’s Lake (Königssee) in Bavaria, Germany, and Salzburg, Austria. Three countries in 3 days with 2 super strong female drivers! Awesome!

We’re planning to start our trip on Thursday (1 April) evening to Paris. We’re gonna stay there til Friday afternoon before heading for Munich (or any other cities nearby in Bavaria) to spend a night at. On Saturday morning we’ll drive to the amazingly beautiful King’s Lake (and other places in Bavaria, but I haven’t explored which places to visit yet). Then our trip will be concluded in Salzburg, where Mozart was born and where the famous movie The Sound of Music was filmed (which has a beautiful setting!).

Oh, I can’t wait for this trip! Here’s the rough route.
