Indonesisch Slang https://project365.amellie.net/indonesisch-slang/ https://project365.amellie.net/indonesisch-slang/#respond Thu, 02 Sep 2010 21:25:59 +0000 http://project365.amellie.net/2010/09/indonesisch-slang/ Indonesisch Slang: Bahasa Gaul

A friend of mine tagged me on Facebook a few days ago. She went to Berlin and found this book which apparently had ME on it. LOL.

So, yes, as you can see, I’m on a cover (and back cover) of a German book, titled Indonesisch Slang: Bahasa Gaul by Bettina David. Published on 2007, this book is all about Indonesian slang. I found it very informative and useful as I learnt quite a lot of new words from this book hahaha. It’s a good book!!! The downside is that it’s only available in German.

Bettina and I used to comment on each other’s blogs back in the days. Since she hid her real name, I used to think that she was an Indonesian. Her blog was written in Indonesian, sometimes using our informal language. Usually, if a foreigner writes or speaks  in Indonesian, you can spot it very easily that he/she isn’t a native Indonesian. But Bettina speaks (both formal and informal)Indonesian, just like any Indonesians do! So that’s why I was surprised when I discovered that she’s a native German!!!

One day, she contacted me, asking me for a permission to use some of my photos published on my online photo gallery. I was honored to be one of the people contacted for this purpose. The picture itself wasn’t THAT good. After all, it was taken with my high school friends… long before she contacted me. But this was my first time to be on a cover of a book!!! So it was so cool!

Route Changes https://project365.amellie.net/route-changes/ https://project365.amellie.net/route-changes/#respond Wed, 17 Mar 2010 13:55:00 +0000 http://amellie365.tumblr.com/post/454618058 Neuschwanstein Castle

Some route changes have just been made to our Easter trip. We’ve decided to add Neuschwanstein Castle to our sightseeing list!!! It’s a beautiful castle and it’s the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.

We’ve also decided to stay for a night in Ulm instead of Munich as previously planned. Qonita, one of my friends who are joining the trip and who are going to be one of the drivers, has found a Couchsurfer who’s kind enough to offer us a place to sleep. It’s indeed a great news!

I haven’t found a Couchsurfer in Salzburg though. I’m still looking for it. If I don’t find anything, then we’re just going to sleep in a hostel. It’ll still be fun!

Here is the updated route 🙂

Yet Another Road Trip https://project365.amellie.net/yet-another-road-trip/ https://project365.amellie.net/yet-another-road-trip/#respond Mon, 01 Mar 2010 19:55:00 +0000 http://amellie365.tumblr.com/post/420534223 Route

I’m super excited now! My friends and I have just planned another road trip around Europe, and this time to Paris, King’s Lake (Königssee) in Bavaria, Germany, and Salzburg, Austria. Three countries in 3 days with 2 super strong female drivers! Awesome!

We’re planning to start our trip on Thursday (1 April) evening to Paris. We’re gonna stay there til Friday afternoon before heading for Munich (or any other cities nearby in Bavaria) to spend a night at. On Saturday morning we’ll drive to the amazingly beautiful King’s Lake (and other places in Bavaria, but I haven’t explored which places to visit yet). Then our trip will be concluded in Salzburg, where Mozart was born and where the famous movie The Sound of Music was filmed (which has a beautiful setting!).

Oh, I can’t wait for this trip! Here’s the rough route.
